Configure Anypoint Studio to Use Your Own JDK (macOS)

Point Anypoint Studio on macOS to your own JDK by adding the -vm option to the AnypointStudio.ini file. Studio then starts with the JDK installation that you specify instead of its bundled JDK.

  1. Go to your /Applications folder, right click the AnypointStudio package and select Show Package Contents.

  2. Go to Contents > Eclipse, and open the AnypointStudio.ini file.

  3. Add the -vm option to point to your specific JDK installation path.

    -vm
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.11+9/Contents/Home/bin/java

    • The -vm option and the installation path must be on separate lines.

    • The value must be the full absolute or relative path to the Java executable, not just to the Java home directory.

    • The -vm option must occur after the other Studio-specific options (such as -product, --launcher.*, and so on), but before the -vmargs option.
