Tokenization Service Configurations

The way you configure and use the tokenization service depends on your Mule implementation:


To configure and use the tokenization service, you must:

  1. Have these permissions:

  2. Install Runtime Fabric. Anypoint Runtime Fabric is a container service that automates the deployment and orchestration of Mule applications and API gateways.

  3. To allow Mule applications or API gateways to listen on inbound connections, enable inbound traffic, you must Enable inbound traffic on Runtime Fabric.

Configure Tokenization Using Policies

You can configure the API Gateway and use the tokenization service as the core engine for the tokenization and detokenization policies provided in API Manager.

To use tokenizatin and detokenization policies to configure the tokenization service:

  1. Ensure you have completed the required prerequisites.

  2. Create a tokenization format.

  3. Create a tokenization service.

  4. In API Manager, set up the API gateway for the Mule app to serve as the proxy.

  5. Apply the tokenization policy to the API gateway.

Configure Tokenization Using a Mule App

When extra data processing is required, you can expose the tokenization endpoint through a Mule app.
