Analyzing Costs and Savings
Enter all expenses for automation of a process. On the basis of the costs of manual execution of the process and the number of process runs already carried out automatically, and the expected future number of monthly process runs, the Net profit per month and the expected Break-Even Point of the process are calculated.
Before You Begin

Ask an organization administrator in Access Management to assign you the required permissions:

A project must exist in the Process Automation module with the following values set in the Process Costs tab of the data sheet:

Cost per process run for manual process execution

Frequency per month for manual process execution

For the Finance Analysis, you require the following values:

Actual and expected number of process runs per month.

Costs of a process run if this is carried out by a human
-
Initial Investment for acquisition of the MuleSoft RPA solution and all other investments.

Period in months for depreciation of the initial investment and all other investments

Monthly operating costs of process automation

Add Analysis Data
Enter data to calculate the Net profit per month and the expected Break-Even Point of the process automation.
Together with the values that are not displayed here, Actual number of process runs per month and Cost per process run for manual process execution, the entries in the Finance Analysis: Cost entries panel determine the shape of the curves in the graphics Break Even Analysis and Cost Evaluation.
You can also use the entry options to analyze in which areas changes must be made to maximize the benefits of automation.
The changes are shown graphically but are only saved in the detailed view if you Save the data.
Add Investments
Add new investments as soon as they occur. The initial investment is copied from the process data sheet.

In the Finance Analysis view of the Process Operations module, click the icon Finance Analysis in the row of the Process you want to add investments to.

In the panel Finance Analysis: Cost entries, click Add investment.

Complete the form Finance Analysis: Cost entries:

Starting at:
Click on the calendar icon to select the month and year in which the investment was made.

Total Invest:
Enter the investment amount.

Deprecation period (in months):
Specify the duration of the depreciation of the investment in months.

Click OK.

Click Save.
Add Operating Costs
The specified monthly operating costs are in each case the total monthly operating costs from the specified month. The previously entered operating costs are only valid in each case until the previous month of the next entry of operating costs. Therefore, the new operating costs replace the old.
The initial operating costs are copied from the Process data sheet.
Note that any changes to the operating costs shift the date of the break-even point.

In the Finance Analysis view of the Process Operations module, click the icon Finance Analysis in the row of the Process you want to add investments to.

In the panel Finance Analysis: Cost entries, click Add change of operating costs.

Complete the form Finance Analysis: Cost entries:

Starting at:
Click on the calendar icon to select the month and year in which the investment was made.

Operating costs:
Enter the new monthly operating costs.

Click OK.

Click Save.
Forcast Monthly Process Runs
Expected number of automatically executed process runs in the current month and in coming months. This number initially equals the number of manually executed process runs per month so far (Frequency per month for manual process execution), but can be adjusted at any time.
Based on past experience, re-estimate the expected number of process runs every month to forecast the break-even time as accurately as possible.
